Charitable foundations of Ukraine that helps orphans

What do we know about orphans? They study in boarding schools and orphanages as well as ordinary children. The state provides them with housing and provides certain funds after graduation. But children leave boarding schools and orphanages completely unprepared for the realities of life. Funds are enough only for the first few days of survival. But they do not shout about it, because they have no voice and their parents are not behind them. They want to dissolve and be invisible because they don’t think they are like everyone else.

Today, there are charitable foundations in Ukraine that try their best to influence the fate and lives of orphans and help them in social adaptation after leaving boarding schools and orphanages.

One of such charitable foundations is our – Orphan Education Club Ukraine. We have been assisting orphans since 1995. Changing the lives of Ukrainian orphans for the better is our main goal and vocation. We have gathered around us people who not only have one goal and one vision, but also clearly know how to help an orphan child in social adaptation and further employment. We have been doing our job well for many years and orphans enter schools in a civilized way, with an understanding of who they want to be and how to achieve it. Today we have many success stories, which we will be happy to share with you.

One of these is the story of Alexander. Alexander is an orphan who lived in a boarding school for more than 10 years. He is now 30 years old and he is a happy man. Works as an electrician and is very successful. However, this was not always like that. Life in the boarding school was quite difficult. Alexander was constantly confronted with the cruelty of the pupils towards himself, the injustice and indifference of the educators, and everyone in general. We helped him and took him into our educational program, which allowed him to become a good person and a full member of society. There are many children like Alexander. And we do everything to create more stories like this one.

The Handcrafts by Orphans project is supported by the United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme and Reconstruction Program and funded by the governments of Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland.
